Relaunch of the Agency Website for K&K Ferienimmobilien (WordPress MultiSite)
We have been supporting K&K Ferienimmobilien as a digital partner for over 10 years. In that time, not only has the website landscape grown, but also our understanding of what property owners really need and how to communicate it convincingly online. For our long-standing client, we were entrusted with relaunching the new agency website as a clear counterpart to the already existing location-based destination sites in the WordPress MultiSite. The special feature: its own design & its own theme, but still centrally managed in the same MultiSite backend. On top of that: custom-developed icons and a setup that cleanly combines performance, accessibility, and SEO.
Starting point & challenge
K&K operates multiple destination websites (location-based presences) in a WordPress MultiSite system alongside the main portal kuk-ferienwohnungen.de. The new agency website, unlike these sites, targets not vacationers but owners of holiday apartments and holiday homes. Therefore, the new agency website needed to:
- be clearly recognizable as the main brand (maintaining its own look & feel for the target group of property owners),
- run within the same MultiSite network (central administration, same infrastructure),
- perform at a high level technically & from an SEO perspective (Core Web Vitals, on-page quality, structured data),
- and simultaneously be implemented accessibly / ‘compliant’ according to WCAG/BFSG.
Our solution: custom theme in MultiSite — centrally manageable, visually independent
We implemented the agency website so that it has its own theme (design, typography, component logic), but without being an isolated solution: updates, system maintenance, and network management remain centrally controllable in the MultiSite backend.
Additionally implemented:
- Custom icon set created (for services/USPs/modules — consistent with the brand identity)
- Clean content structure for conversion & orientation (services, proof, plus points, guide, podcast, partners, contact)
Content with a conversion focus (homepage as a ‘sales page’)
The structure of the homepage was clearly oriented towards the owner target group and value-based argumentation:
- Hero: ‘We make your holiday apartment more profitable’ (direct benefit rather than self-description)
- Service blocks: marketing, booking management, guest support, cleaning, linen service, property management
- Trust elements: portal logos/distribution, key figures, reviews
- Lead magnet: PDF guide
- Content branding: podcast teaser + QR code reference
- Regional strength: partners & locations visibly integrated

At launch, the quality metrics were where they belong — at the top:

- Accessibility: compliant

Especially the combination of MultiSite setup and custom theme alongside strong KPIs shows: scaling doesn’t have to mean compromise.
