Roof renovation at no cost to the owner, a lease paid as a one-off sum, returns from ongoing PV projects – anyone reading this for the first time will have questions. ## Starting point: new brand, strong figures, outdated website

Behind Holtz & Partner stands the team of HK Solartec from Broderstorf near Rostock. Since 2012 the company has delivered over 700 solar projects, covered more than 2 million m² of roof space and installed over 300,000 kWp of total output. The model: owners of large roof areas from 500 m² upwards lease their roof for a photovoltaic system, receive a one-off lease payment when construction starts and, if needed, a free roof renovation beforehand. Investors take a stake in ongoing projects.

The old website under the HK Solartec brand conveyed little of this. A dark layout from a different generation of web design, long blocks of text, no clear separation of the three offers. The move to the Holtz & Partner brand was also the moment to rebuild the digital presence from scratch.

That produced the following tasks for the relaunch:

- The three offers – roof renovation, roof leasing and investment – needed their own, clearly separated pages.
- The experience from over 700 projects had to become visible and verifiable.
- Prospects had to be able to calculate their potential lease payment themselves.
- Six very different target groups had to recognise themselves, from farmers to private investors.

## Structure: three offers, six target groups, one clear path to an enquiry

We developed the concept, design and implementation from scratch. The home page puts the decision front and centre: roof renovation, roof leasing or solar investment. Each offer has its own subpage with requirements, process, benefits and a dedicated enquiry form. Anyone landing directly on a service page from Google finds everything they need there to make a decision.

The target groups are deliberately named in concrete terms: commercial and industrial businesses, agricultural operations, property owners, developers of new builds, municipalities and investors. The company’s key figures sit prominently above the fold: over 2 million m² of PV surface, on the market since 2012, over 700 projects, over 300,000 kWp. Figures like these do more persuading than any piece of ad copy.

## The lease calculator: instant results instead of a contact-form hurdle

The strongest conversion element of the new website is the lease calculator. Prospects set their roof area with a slider and immediately see what one-off payment is realistic. The calculation works with two scenarios, for 80 and 100 % usable area, in order to give an honest picture of typical deductions such as windows, clearances or shading.

The calculator lowers the barrier considerably: instead of filling in a form and waiting for a quote, the roof owner gets a sense of the figures in seconds. Anyone who makes an enquiry afterwards is already pre-qualified and knows the order of magnitude. This is exactly how lead journeys should be built for offers that need explaining.

## References with substance: project map and real installation data

Over 700 completed projects are an argument – if you can show them. So we developed a dedicated reference system: every installation is recorded with its output in kWp, module count and roof area, and gets its own detail page with photos.

The centrepiece is the interactive project map. It shows the company’s regional reach at a glance, with project locations across Germany and a focus in the north-east. A click on a location opens the project data directly on the map. ## Design: dark mode, light mode and subtle animations

As one of the first websites from our studio, holtz-partner.com got a fully fledged dark and light mode. Visitors switch between the two views with a click in the header, and the setting is remembered. The dark design picks up the look of solar modules, the light one conveys clarity and freshness. Both modes are fully designed through, from the logo to the project map.

On top of that there are restrained animations such as the bokeh effect in the background, which gives the site depth without distracting from the content. ## Technology: WordPress with a custom theme, built AI-ready

The website runs on WordPress with a custom theme developed specifically for it. The team maintains references, project data and the map themselves via a simple interface, and new installations appear automatically in the overview and on the map.
