From fragmented systems to a high-performance WordPress MultiSite: sometimes a project doesn’t start with a design idea but with a clear technical necessity. At Fidelis Revision & Steuerberatung, the original trigger was accessibility. The existing website was based on a custom CMS built on CodeIgniter, while additional corporate websites ran in parallel on other technical solutions. Content updates, maintenance, further development, and especially accessibility could only be achieved with considerable effort. After a comprehensive audit of all existing websites, it quickly became clear that selective optimization wouldn’t be enough. The better, more sustainable decision was a complete relaunch on a unified technical foundation – and with a new agency.<\/p>

Starting Point: Many Systems, Little Future-Readiness<\/h2>

Before working with us, the client had already collaborated with several agencies and was correspondingly critical. Different technologies, inconsistent maintenance processes, and a lack of scalability had caused frustration. At the same time, as an audit and tax consultancy firm, Fidelis operates in a heavily regulated environment, which means topics such as data protection, accessibility, performance, and reliability are not optional extras but essential prerequisites.<\/p>

The Solution: WordPress MultiSite as the Central Foundation<\/h2>

Together with Fidelis, we chose a WordPress MultiSite system. Today, it hosts<\/p>

  • plus four additional corporate websites<\/li>\n<\/ul>

    all in one central backend. Two of the connected websites deliberately use a different color scheme but remain technically part of the same system. Content, user rights, updates, and security mechanisms are managed centrally, while each website retains its own identity in appearance and positioning.<\/p>

    This setup is ideal for corporate groups in particular, because it avoids redundancies while enabling growth at the same time.<\/p>

    Accessibility Considered from the Outset<\/h2>

    Accessibility was not a later add-on but an integral part of the relaunch. Structured content, clean heading hierarchies, sufficient color contrast, meaningful focus handling, and fully accessible navigation elements were implemented directly in the theme and in the content modules.<\/p>

    The result is an accessible website that is not only legally compliant but also significantly more pleasant to use for all user groups.<\/p>

      Clean code, optimized image delivery, and a clear separation of content and functionality were deliberate choices. The system is optimized for PageSpeed and is therefore fast – as well as stable and future-proof.<\/p>

      Structured data for tax advisors and auditors: a topic that is often underestimated is the correct markup of content for search engines. For Fidelis, we specifically implemented Structured Data (Schema Markup) tailored to tax advisory and audit firms. This improves not only findability, but also the way content is presented in search results and in AI-driven systems.<\/p>

      Clear, Professional, and Approachable Content<\/h2>

      The new appearance conveys what Fidelis stands for: experience, reliability, and closeness to mid-sized businesses. The homepage guides visitors clearly through services, team, locations, and contacts without feeling overloaded. Content is easy to scan, clearly worded, and consistently aligned with the needs of clients. The relaunch of fidelis-revision.de is not a cosmetic project but a fundamental technical and structural realignment. Multiple individual solutions were merged into one central, high-performing system that combines accessibility, performance, SEO, and editorial efficiency.<\/p>
