WordPress MultiSite for two boarding schools under one roof
For Kurpfalz-Internat in Bammental, we delivered a complete relaunch with a CMS migration from Typo3 to WordPress and the migration of around 900 pages of content. The new site is built on a WordPress MultiSite architecture that is operated jointly with the sister school Schloss Torgelow. The on-page score rose from 67 to 94 percent in Seobility. In addition, structured data per Schema.org, accessibility per WCAG 2.1 AA, and custom icons, illustrations, and map design were implemented.

The Brief
Kurpfalz-Internat in Bammental needed a complete relaunch: migrating from the existing Typo3 system to WordPress, along with around 900 pages of content. The new site is built on a WordPress MultiSite architecture, operated jointly with the sister school Schloss Torgelow. Both schools are managed through a shared backend, with clearly defined editor roles. During the switch, great care was taken to deliver an SEO-compliant migration: the on-page score rose from 67 to 94 percent in Seobility.
SEO-compliant migration, structured data, and AI readiness
During the migration from Typo3 to WordPress, existing URLs were redirected sensibly, meta data, alt text, and Open Graph content were optimized, and the sitemap and robots.txt were realigned. External links were reviewed and adjusted. The homepage uses semantically correct structured data per Schema.org with the types WebPage, School, EducationEvent, and Person, laying the foundation for rich snippets in Google search results. In addition, the groundwork was laid for future AI integrations – from automated translation to structured data for AI search systems like Google SGE. The site runs on PHP 8+, MySQL 8, and server-side caching systems. Accessibility per WCAG 2.1 AA was secured.
One system, two schools: WordPress MultiSite for Kurpfalz-Internat and Schloss Torgelow
Kurpfalz-Internat and Schloss Torgelow belong to the same operating family and will in future share the technological foundation: a high-performance WordPress MultiSite installation through which design, content, and features for both schools are managed in a targeted way without creating redundancies. Editors only have access to their respective school. All content can be maintained via a central backend, and any number of language versions and subpages can be added. Alongside the technical implementation, custom icons, illustrations, and a map design for Kurpfalz-Internat were created, giving the appearance a consistent, recognizable character.
