Police, 4eck, TutKit, and beyond – my career
Matthias Petri is co-founder and managing director of 4eck Media GmbH & Co. KG alongside his brother Stefan. He began his professional career in the police force: in 2005, he completed his studies in advanced police work and most recently worked as a press spokesman for his department.
In 2009, he and Stefan Petri started their own business. In addition to the agency, this collaboration also gave rise to their own platform projects: the brothers have been running the PSD-Tutorials.de forum since 2002 and the TutKit.com e-learning platform since 2015.
At 4eck Media, Matthias Petri is primarily responsible for customer acquisition, budgeting, strategic orientation and positioning, as well as some project management. In the agency blog, he regularly reports on projects and his favorite topics such as AI, multilingualism, UI/UX, and SEO & GEO. He also gives lectures, creates video training courses, and is a guest on podcasts.
The roles are clearly defined: Matthias Petri manages the agency business of 4eck Media, while Stefan Petri is responsible for TutKit.com (further development and operation).

The managing director of 4eck Media is a big plant lover and is the proud owner of a 3-meter-tall monstera. In his free time, he trains in martial arts (judo/MMA & grappling/BJJ) three times a week. He also enjoys his annual January break with friends or family snowboarding. Of course, he also likes to travel. And he regularly reads educational books, especially biographies of famous personalities.

Private life: Life outside the agency
Matthias Petri is married and has three children. In his private life, he enjoys rural life in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania with its peace and quiet, nature, and clear routines. As a morning person, he likes to start the day very early with a cup of black coffee. In his free time, he likes to be outdoors, often accompanied by his medium schnauzer Ringo, who is always with him in everyday life and also in the office.
Outside of work, he finds balance in:
- Spending time with his family, traveling, and gardening
- Martial arts: three times a week practicing judo/MMA & grappling/BJJ
- Snowboarding: at least once a year, he hits the slopes with friends and family
- 3-minute blitz chess (personal best 1571 on Chess.com)
- Books: mainly non-fiction, business literature, and biographies of famous or historical figures
