The collaboration with 4eck Media has always been extremely positive for us. Whether we are working together to create modern video tutorials or coordinating expert guest articles, we benefit from friendly and timely communication at all times. The path to contemporary and professional content always requires flexibility and attention from all parties. However, with 4eck Media we have found a reliable partner for this and so we are looking forward to further cooperations.
Started in 1999 as a local print shop, Saxoprint is now one of the largest print shops in Europe with over 500 employees and one of the most modern technology parks in the printing industry worldwide. With over 18,000 m2 of floor space, there is enough room to handle an order volume of around 4,000 jobs per day. In addition, the printing giant operates very successful content and online marketing, resulting in a highly frequented internet presence on all print-related topics.
In our cooperation with Saxoprint.de, which has been ongoing since 2015, we create a joint win-win situation through corporate publishing and content marketing with explainer videos. Since the output is exactly where the target group needs it, it is possible to communicate very closely with the target group. For designers, graphic designers and creative minds, we use videos like this to convey hot content with a lot of "aha" and show them the practical way to their (favorite) print shop.
Cooperation content with Saxoprint.de for well-founded and value-added video tutorials and explanatory videos have been so far:
- Stylish paper tote bag design correctly and export ready to print.
- Packaging design: Gastro and gift box with unboxing
- Design and print book with hard cover
- Design and print effective beach flag in drop shape
- Multi-page brochure with folded front cover
- Joint social media activities
- Targeted YouTube and newsletter marketing
- Photo shoot of the delivered printed products
Below we would like to show you some of the video tutorials created in our cooperation with Saxoprint.de.
InDesign tutorial: Stylish paper tote bag correctly designed and exported ready for printing
There are definitely too few beautiful tote bags in this world! In this video tutorial, I show how to create the layout of a paper tote bag in Adobe InDesign. What does the basic layout look like? Which print marks are important to keep? And where do I even start with the design? I'll show you all this using a comprehensive workflow for a stylish fashion tote bag in flat design. The bags were actually printed, so you'll also find galleries and photos of the final printed product in the video. A powerful advertising medium waiting here!
InDesign Tutorial: Designing promotional beach flag in teardrop shape + unboxing
In this video tutorial, I will show you how to create a beach flag in InDesign. Our beach flag has the familiar teardrop shape, but how can we simplify and speed up the design process? How is it clear where the trim limits are at the end? Are there any other important things that should be taken into account? We will clarify all these questions and even order the product afterwards, so we can unpack and build it live in front of the camera! Look forward to a hot workshop!
InDesign Tutorial: Multi-page brochure with folded front cover (48 min)
n this video tutorial I will share with you my approach to creating and editing a brochure. The special feature of this brochure is the varied format, because I work with the familiar DIN A4 portrait format and an additional folded cover in front, which can still be folded out of the ordinary cover. I also explain how to prepare the file correctly, where to find appropriate templates for the folded cover, how to create the documents and much more! But the highlight of this real estate brochure is the final unboxing, because the print product was actually printed and will be unpacked by me in front of the camera for you.
What awaits you? We will go through the following stages:
- Design and layout of a staple-bound brochure with a 6-page cover.
- Finding the right template for the expressive folded cover and designing it attractively
- Setting up the workspace in Adobe InDesign, taking into account the correct printing parameters
- Using design lines and design concepts
- Specifying consecutive page numbering (pagination)
- The correct export from Adobe InDesign and upload to Saxoprint
InDesign Tutorial: Designing and printing a book with a hardcover + Unboxing
Hardcover books are not only suitable for corporate annual reports, but also in the freelance and creative sector (with high circulation) these media can showcase the content fantastically!
In this comprehensive video training, we make it our task to design a very pretty book with a hardcover. The cover in particular is a challenge here, but one that can be quickly solved with the right know-how. I'll show you where to find the necessary data, what to look for when the spine varies based on the number of pages, and which focal points require precise work in InDesign. Then we will design the cover beautifully and address the specifics of the inside.
After the data has been created, I will show which setting parameters for printing are to be observed and recommended for such a book with a hard cover, so that the most noble character is created. The book was actually printed, so you can see the result for yourself in the final unboxing. A workshop full of interesting content awaits you!
InDesign Tutorial: Packaging Design - Designing a Gift Box + Unboxing
In this tutorial, I'll show you how to design a three-dimensional gastronomy or gift box in an attractive and modern way. You'll learn how to use "SAXOPRINT pro design" to get the basic layout in a flash, which areas need critical attention, and how to recreate the design in just a few minutes. Packaging of this kind is suitable for all kinds of uses, so there are no limits not only to creative design but also to practical application.
Since this is a real customer project, I will also go into the corporate design manual and present the final result in front of the camera after the export as well as the order during the unboxing. You can expect a humorous workshop with a lot of know-how.
Our agency design in the CEWE corporate film
How does the new corporate film of CEWE, Europe's largest photo service, fit together with a video training for Adobe InDesign created by us and our customer FISCHKAUFHAUS.de? A curious story that makes us all quite proud. But now let's start from the beginning. In 2016, as part of our collaboration with the online print shop Saxoprint, we published a video training on how to create a very special product: the design of a gift box in Adobe InDesign (see above). The print product in the form of a three-dimensional gift box holds a number of challenging hurdles during the design process, which is why a video training on the design is ideal for general understanding, so that the print result arrives at the customer without any nasty surprises.
And while Saxoprint is a subsidiary of the large parent company CEWE in the field of commercial online printing, we were looking for a suitable design for the gift box that would make an impression as an identity carrier. Our choice therefore fell to our agency client FISCHKAUFHAUS.de, who promptly agreed. Here is the final packaging design in all its glory:
Unpack edutainment content and bag reach.
At this stage, fantastic video trainings have already been created, which can be viewed in more detail in the video embeds placed above. More explainer videos are in the pipeline and so we're excited to be able to combine value-added tips and tricks on working with Adobe InDesign, on how to handle artwork flawlessly, to a keen sense of aesthetic design for our viewers. Humor is the order of the day and entertaining learning is guaranteed. A plus that is gladly accepted by the online community.
Together you achieve more, you and your colleague next to you have known that not just since yesterday. We feel exactly the same way. That's why we work with Saxoprint at an identical frequency with viral effect. From this very thought, a handshake between two large portals on the web suddenly turns into a full-blown pat on the back, culminating in exuberant joy after every further video hit, about so much community support on all channels. Strong thing! When can we start working for you?
