It's always nice to be involved by other designers as part of their projects. This was the case for Catherina Deinhardt of cconcept-gestaltung.de, who needed agency expertise to get illustrative 3D architectural renderings in a sketch look for her client as part of their relaunch. The company offers geothermal solutions and wanted three ways to visualize how geothermal probes can be used to provide geothermal energy to residential buildings.
Geothermal heating systems use a heat pump to harness the thermal energy stored in the earth. The heat pump extracts heat from the earth and raises the temperature to heat the building. The process is energy efficient because it only requires electrical energy to run the heat pump, while the actual heat comes from the earth. It should be noted that implementing geothermal systems for buildings may require some investment. Careful planning, consultation with professionals and compliance with regulations are necessary to ensure an effective and reliable geothermal system.
With the help of our architectural visualizations, it is now easier for project partners, stakeholders, municipalities and real estate developers to understand the provider's concept and decide on further steps. Thus, 3D renderings provide valuable information for marketing and positioning companies.
The right look in 3D rendering for every application
There are a variety of different looks that can be used in 3D renderings to create different moods and visual effects. For the energy concept renderings, a minimalist sketch look was deliberately chosen. Here are some other common looks we can implement in 3D visualizations:
Photorealistic 3D Renderings.
This look aims to make the 3D rendering look as realistic as possible, similar to a photograph. It uses high-resolution textures, detailed lighting, and realistic materials to create a lifelike image.
Cartoon-style 3D renderings
This look is highly stylized and reminiscent of a hand-drawn or animated cartoon world. Colors are often bright and bold, shapes are simplified, and textures are kept simple. Simple shading and lines are often used to achieve the desired cartoon effect.
Sketch style 3D images
Sketch style: this look mimics the style of pencil or ink sketches. Renderings often have incomplete or dashed lines and can have a rather rough, unfinished aesthetic. This look works well for concept renderings or to create a hand-drawn atmosphere.
Architectural-style 3D renderings
This look is often used for architectural visualizations. Realistic materials and lighting are used to detail the design of a building or property. Perspectives are often chosen to present the architecture at its best. Basically, it's a photo-realistic style.
Vintage style 3D renderings.
This look mimics the style of times past, such as the aesthetics of the 50s, 60s, or 70s. It often uses warm, muted colors, film grain, and retro filters to create a nostalgic look.
This list is not exhaustive, as there are countless other looks and styles that can be used depending on the desired aesthetic and requirements. The choice of look depends on the intended effect, the context of the project, and the personal preferences of the artist or designer. Many 3D architectural or photorealistic style renderings can be seen here in our portfolio: Architectural Visualizations.
