MultiSite - multiple websites in one system

Including booking link for vacation apartments

K&K Ferienimmobilien GmbH & Co. KG owns numerous properties, which it operates as hotels, among other things. Examples are the Zwei Wasser project in Wustrow, the Hafenresidenz in Waren an der Müritz, the Aparthotel in Zingst and a house in Krakow am See. For all these projects, several websites were to be created that would present the hotels attractively and also enable online booking. Instead of preparing a separate administration for each site, we chose a more effective and prospectively easier to handle MultiSite system ... multiple websites in one system.

All about a WordPress installation

We designed and developed the MultiSite system for K&K Ferienimmobilien GmbH & Co KG. The highlight: A whole network of websites with their own domains, their own content and also their own style specifications can be managed via just one WordPress installation. Nevertheless, it is possible to assign an individual admin to each website, so that only the person has access to the backend to the respective page, where he should make edits.

If you look at the four projects of our customer in the frontend, you will notice: The modules themselves are similar. But the extremely flexible options for making individual adjustments for each page result in clearly distinguishable, individual designs in each case. Colors, logos and separating elements can be changed and the modules can be arranged individually according to requirements.

Connection to the Destination Solutions booking system

A major challenge was to connect the Destination Solutions booking system to WordPress via API. For this, a technically sophisticated solution had to be developed individually, because the API of DS was still relatively new and there were no available plugins or scripts for WordPress yet. With our development, the data about the vacation apartments (such as pictures, texts, prices and availabilities) are retrieved live from the DS server. When booking via the website, the data is transferred back to DS and synchronized with other linked booking platforms.
